Grey Oxide

Grey oxide paste is used in lead acid batteries. It is made by mixing lead oxide (PbO) and water to form a paste. The paste is then used to coat the lead plates in the battery. The lead oxide paste reacts with the lead plates and water to form lead hydroxide (Pb(OH)2). This reaction produces electrons that flow through the battery and provide power.
